My partner was offered a full time in architecture yesterday, It was the first time he was ever offered such a position in his chosen field and a red letter day.

He turned it down as we are moving to san francisco this summer. That means it is also the first time he turned down a job in architecture. A double red letter day.

Made me happy!

actually his boss offered one before he could ask and offered to recommend him to architects she knows in the bay area

That's awesome. I hope his ego is inflated - but not too much. I hope he is applying for jobs in SF.
